Terry Fox Great Canadian Head Shave
Fire
Fighters from Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt volunteered
to have their heads shaved along with members of BC Transit,
the Department of National Defense and the Cadet program as
part of a fundraiser for the Terry Fox Cancer Campaign.
There
were a number of celebrity shavers on hand as approximately
thirty sets of clippers were put to work on over one hundred
and thirty heads. The Victoria Fire Department had forty-nine
members from suppression, inspection and administration who
stepped forward to be shaved.
The Victoria Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation was proud
to present a cheque in the amount of $4000.00 to the organizers
of the event, Linda Johnstone, and Rob Reid. The Victoria
Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation would also like to put
a thank you out to Mike Fowler for all his time and effort. |
