Fire 2500 Block Wesley

Fire crews were quick to respond to the report of smoke and flames showing at the rear of a house in the 2500 block of Wesley at 9:00pm on January 1, 2008. Engine 3, the first arriving crew found a couch fully engulfed in flames outside the back of the house. Heat from the burning furniture had shattered the glass roof of a small shelter, and the basement window, causing the house to fill with smoke. Crews quickly put the flames out with a hose line and ventilated the house to clear the remaining smoke. There was no one home at the time of the fire, and it is still under investigation.

FF Vince Cullen checks the guages on Engine 3

FF Dan Atkinson uses the TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera) to check for any hot spots that may remain in the shelter or the walls.

FF Mark Rawlings uses the hose line on the back window of the basement suite to ensure the fire is out.
